Have Fun in Traverse City over Labor Day Weekend!

It's a long weekend and summer's last hurrah! So head up to Traverse City for a variety of events...guaranteed fun for everyone in the family. In addition to the special events below, you can also visit the beach, take in a golf game, do some shopping in downtown Traverse City and enjoy a delicious meal at area eateries.


Here are some of the activities that were available in 2016. Activities for 2017 will be listed as they become available.

Exhibit: Seungmo Park Meticulously Snipped and Wrapped

The Dennos Museum Center presents the first solo museum exhibition in the United States of the works of Seungmo Park of Seoul, Korea, featuring his meticulously cut MAYA imagery and aluminum wire wrapped sculptural forms.

Exhibit: How to Return? Images by contemporary Chinese Photographers

This exhibition features the work of seven noted photographers in China: Adou, Huang Xiaoliang, Liang Weizhou, Lu Yanpeng, Luo Dan, Song Chao and Wang Ningde presenting contemporary images of the Chinese people and environment, reflecting tradition, change and offering social commentary.

Waters D'Vine: Wine, bike, kayak, tour

Waters D'Vine is focused on the organic natural beauty of local wine, eats and ecology. Experience a unique perspective of historical downtown Traverse City while kayaking through the Boardman lake, River and mouth of West Bay.

Leelanau, Old Mission, and Traverse City Wine Tours

Take a wine-tasting tour at several of the numerous wineries in the Traverse City area. Taste the award winning wines of Northern Michigan.

Traverse City Helicopter Tours

Try the Traverse City Helicopters for a whole new perspective of Northern Michigan.

Traverse City Beach Bums

Head to Wuerfel Park Friday night and catch a home game played by the Traverse City Beach Bums vs. the Rockford Aviators.

Gospel Brunch by the Bay in Traverse City

Musicians, singers and a Hammond Organ, deliver up toe tapping, hand clapping musical delights while the Rivertown Cafe rolls out the grill and prepares a delicious afternoon brunch

Tapas Tours at Chateau Chantal

Tours are conducted daily from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Experience the winery, vineyard, and enjoy tapas small plates with your choice of Chantal wine.

NCB Sousa Concert

Catch a rousing Sousa Concert at the Northport Community Arts Center. The patriotic music will liven you up and put a smile on your face.

Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market

Every Saturday from 7:30am-12pm, visit the Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market, located in the City Parking lot between Cass and Union streets. Pick up fresh, local produce, including organic varieties.
